The Micarta Jewels - Carving Knife 20 cm from Shinrai Japan contains 67 layers of elegant damask steel, hardened to 61 HRC Rockwell. A carving knife is generally slightly thinner, slightly sharper and slightly shorter than a normal chef's knife. A carving knife is mainly used for cutting meat at the table, or for cutting nice portions or wafer-thin slices of meat.
This edition of the Micarta Jewels Series is finished to perfection. The Japanese damask steel blade continues in the beautiful Micarta jewellery bolster. Micarta is made of several layers of linen that are pressed together with synthetic resin under high pressure. These 3 inlaid jewel rings provide a unique and beautiful composition. The wood of the handle is made of sustainable pakka wood.
In addition, the handle is made in one piece, without rivets. This makes it completely maintenance-free and the risk of cracks or other damage is minimal.
